MWM delegation meets CII chairman, urges fair representation of Shia perspective in national curriculum

ISLAMABAD, Thursday, June 19, 2025 (WNP): A delegation of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan, led its Chief Organizer Allama Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi, on Thursday called on Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman, Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi to discuss key issues pertaining to sectarian representation and inclusivity in national education policy.

The meeting, held on Thursday, included prominent figures such as Allama Syed Hasnain Abbas Gardezi, Malik Iqrar Hussain Alvi, and Maulana Shamsuddin. The delegation presented a formal memorandum calling for accurate representation of the Shia school of thought in the national curriculum and advocated for effective inclusion of Shia scholars within the council’s advisory and decision-making processes.

Chairman Dr. Naeemi attentively received the delegation’s proposals and assured them that the council operates strictly within its constitutional framework while respecting the perspectives of all Islamic sects. He emphasized that national unity and religious harmony remain among the council’s top priorities.

Highlighting the importance of inter-sectarian dialogue, Dr. Naeemi reiterated the council’s commitment to consultative approaches and inclusive participation of all schools of thought in resolving religious and educational matters.

At the conclusion of meeting, the MWM delegation strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression against Iran, paying tribute to the courage and resilience of the Iranian leadership and people. They also commended the government of Pakistan’s principled and unwavering stance in support of Iran.
