ISLAMABAD, Friday, September 12, 2025 (WNP): Adviser to the Chairman of the Senate and Ambassador of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), Misbah Khar on Friday met with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev to discuss Tashkent’s participation in the upcoming parliamentary gathering scheduled for November 11–12 in Islamabad under the theme ‘Peace, Security, and Development’.
Khar briefed the envoy on the conference’s key objectives, which include strengthening peace through parliamentary engagement, enhancing regional security cooperation, shaping legislative responses to transnational challenges, and promoting sustainable development.
She emphasized the need to connect regional parliaments on issues such as conflict prevention, food, water, and energy security, as well as inclusive economic growth.
Ambassador Tukhtaev reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to attend the ISC and praised the initiative as a timely platform for dialogue. He expressed particular interest in contributing to discussions on stability, regional connectivity, and legislative diplomacy, while underscoring the importance of tangible outcomes in trade, cross-border cooperation, and resilience.
