TEHRAN, Tuesday, June 23, 2026 (WNP): Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday stressed that the success of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States would depend on the complete implementation of the commitments agreed by both sides under the diplomatic framework established through the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (Islamabad MoU).

In a statement on his social media account X, President Pezeshkian said the effectiveness of the negotiations would be judged by practical adherence to the obligations accepted by all parties rather than by public statements or political rhetoric.

“The effectiveness of the talks depends on full commitment to the agreed obligations and their precise implementation,” the Iranian president said.

He emphasized that progress in the diplomatic process would be measured by the faithful execution of the responsibilities outlined in the agreed framework.

“Progress on this path will be measured by practical adherence to accepted responsibilities,” he stated.

President Pezeshkian also underscored the importance of maintaining discipline throughout the negotiation process, noting that remarks falling outside the agreed framework would not contribute to advancing the dialogue.

“Statements outside the agreed text do not help advance the negotiations,” he said.

His remarks came as Iran and the United States continue technical and political consultations following the successful conclusion of the first High-Level Committee meeting held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

The high-level talks resulted in agreement on a roadmap for reaching a comprehensive agreement within 60 days, the establishment of a High-Level Committee to provide political oversight, and the continuation of technical-level negotiations as part of the next phase of the diplomatic process.
