KUWAIT CITY, Saturday, March 28, 2026 (WNP): The Kuwaiti Armed Forces said several drones launched from Iran struck Kuwait International Airport, causing significant damage to key infrastructure, including the airport’s radar system and fuel storage facilities.

According to an official statement, the strikes triggered a large fire at the airport’s fuel tanks, prompting emergency response teams to contain the blaze. Authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported.

The military said a total of 15 Iranian drones had been launched toward Kuwait over the past 24 hours, marking a sharp escalation in attacks targeting Gulf states amid ongoing regional tensions.

Officials did not immediately specify the extent of operational disruption at the airport but described the damage as substantial, particularly to radar systems critical for air traffic management.

The incident comes as Gulf countries continue to face increasing aerial threats, with drone and missile attacks posing significant risks to civilian infrastructure and regional security.

Kuwaiti authorities said investigations are underway and that defensive measures are being reinforced to prevent further incidents, while emergency services remain on high alert.
