MOSCOW, Monday, April 27, 2026 (WNP): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran is considering a request for negotiations, while reaffirming Iran’s firm stance in the face of global pressures, ahead of his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Speaking to journalists, Araghchi said Iran has stood against the world’s “greatest superpower,” adding that its adversaries had not achieved their objectives, which he said prompted calls for dialogue.

He emphasized that Iran and Russia remain strategic partners, highlighting a history of mutual support between the two countries.

“Our cooperation will continue,” he said, reiterating Tehran’s commitment to sustaining and expanding its partnership with Moscow.

The remarks came shortly before Araghchi’s scheduled talks with President Putin in Moscow, where discussions were expected to focus on bilateral relations and regional developments.
