MOSCOW, Monday, April 27, 2026 (WNP): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he held a “very good” and detailed meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, lasting over an hour and a half, during which both sides discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.
Speaking after the meeting, Araghchi said the discussions covered all major aspects of Iran-Russia relations, as well as key regional developments. He noted that issues related to war and aggression by the United States and Israel were also examined in depth.
The Iranian foreign minister said both sides exchanged constructive ideas to further expand cooperation, adding that significant potential exists for strengthening collaboration between Tehran and Moscow.
Quoting President Putin, Araghchi said the Russian leader acknowledged the resilience of the Iranian people, noting that “not only Russia but the entire world is observing” Iran’s stance.
He expressed gratitude for Russia’s friendly cooperation, particularly during challenging times, and reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s resolve to continue and deepen its strategic partnership with Moscow.
Araghchi reiterated Iran’s commitment to sustained engagement with Russia, emphasizing that bilateral relations would continue to advance across various domains.
