ISLAMABAD, Thursday, January 29, 2026 (WNP): Iran and Pakistan on Thursday intensified high-level diplomatic engagement as senior leaders from both countries held a series of telephone conversations aimed at reinforcing bilateral cooperation and coordinating positions on emerging regional developments.

According to diplomatic sources, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian spoke with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, while separate talks were held between Iran’s senior leadership and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The discussions took place against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving regional situation, underscoring the importance both sides attach to close consultation and timely coordination.

The exchanges reflected the depth of relations between the two neighbouring countries, which share long-standing historical, cultural, and religious ties.
