Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi vows swift justice after deadly Islamabad District Court blast; legal fraternity condemns attack

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, November 11, 2025 (WNP): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited the site of the deadly explosion outside Islamabad’s G-11 District Courts, directing authorities to expedite the search operation and submit a comprehensive investigation report.

During the visit, Inspector General of Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi briefed the minister on the latest developments, while Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa and senior police officials were also present.

Condemning the incident in the strongest terms, Minister Naqvi described it as an Indian-sponsored and Afghan Taliban-backed proxy attack carried out by the extremist group Khawarij, calling it a “cowardly act of terrorism.”

Expressing profound grief over the loss of innocent lives, Naqvi extended condolences to the bereaved families and stressed that the perpetrators must be brought to justice without delay.

“The culprits must be arrested as soon as possible, and a full investigation report should be presented,” he directed.

Meanwhile, members of the legal fraternity across the country strongly condemned the explosion, terming it an attack on justice and the rule of law. They urged strict action against those responsible and called for national unity to safeguard the Constitution and the judiciary.

Speaking to reporters outside the Supreme Court, senior lawyer Hamid Khan said Pakistan was passing through a critical phase and urged all institutions and citizens to work collectively to uphold constitutional values. He denounced the attack and expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy.

Former Attorney General Munir A. Malik said the entire nation mourned the victims and stood in solidarity with their families, emphasizing the need for resilience in the face of terrorism.

Later, Abid Zuberi, former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, presented a joint resolution condemning the attack in the strongest terms and demanding immediate justice for the victims.

The lawyers collectively reaffirmed their unwavering resolve to defend constitutional supremacy, uphold judicial independence, and promote peace and unity across Pakistan.
