Available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, Veo 3 allows users to transform their favorite photos into eight-second video clips with sound, offering a powerful new way to animate personal memories and creative ideas.
With over 40 million videos generated globally within just seven weeks of its initial rollout, Veo 3 has inspired users around the world to reimagine fairy tales, explore ASMR concepts, and push the frontiers of visual creativity.
To generate a video:
- Select ‘Videos’ from the prompt menu
- Upload a photo
- Describe the scene and sound (e.g., background music, narration, sound effects)
- Watch as Google’s AI model transforms the image into a lifelike video
These capabilities are also integrated into Flow, Google’s AI-powered tool for filmmakers, which now supports speech synthesis, sound effects, and background audio — though audio features remain in experimental stages.
Additionally, the Frames to Video feature, now available on Veo 3 Fast, enables quicker rendering of personal images into dynamic video clips, optimizing usage of user credits.
To ensure ethical and secure use of its AI systems, Google has embedded visible watermarks and invisible SynthID markers into all Gemini-generated videos to identify AI content. The company also conducts rigorous “red teaming” exercises to stress-test the technology, address risks, and uphold content safety.
Google has pledged to enforce strict content safety policies and encourages users to provide feedback via thumbs-up or thumbs-down buttons to improve the tool’s reliability and safety over time.
