Dar, Uzbek foreign minister discuss bilateral ties, regional developments

ISLAMABAD, Saturday, May 16, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and discussed bilateral relations, regional developments, and issues of mutual interest.

During the conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on strengthening Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations and enhancing cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels.

The discussion also covered evolving regional developments and matters related to peace, stability, and cooperation in the broader region.

Foreign Minister Saidov appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and security, acknowledging Islamabad’s engagement in diplomatic and mediation initiatives.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and agreed to remain in close contact to advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
