ISLAMABAD, Thursday, February 5, 2026 (WNP): Pakistan’s celebrated javelin thrower and Olympic medallist Arshad Nadeem attended the Caledonian Ball in Lahore on Thursday evening, an event that underscored the growing cultural ties between Scotland and Punjab while also reflecting the expanding role of sports personalities in cultural diplomacy.

The prestigious gathering was hosted under the auspices of the British High Commission and brought together diplomats, cultural figures, and prominent members of society.

Arshad Nadeem was warmly received by British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott and Head of the British High Commission’s Lahore Office Ben Warrington, who welcomed guests and highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening bilateral relations.

The Caledonian Ball celebrated Scotland–Punjab connections through a blend of tradition, music, and hospitality, symbolizing the enduring people-to-people links between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
