LONDON, February 17, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday arrived in London for a two-day stopover ahead of his scheduled visit to the United States, where he is expected to participate in a key Board of Peace meeting and hold bilateral engagements with senior U.S. officials.
The Prime Minister landed at London Luton Airport, where he was received by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mohammad Faisal, along with political and community representatives including PML-N President Ahsan Dar Khurram Butt and Rashid Hashmi.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and a high-level delegation.
The London stopover will include internal consultations and preparatory meetings ahead of the Prime Minister’s engagements in Washington, where discussions are expected to focus on regional peace, strategic cooperation and strengthening Pakistan–US relations.
The upcoming visit to the United States comes at a time of shifting geopolitical dynamics and renewed diplomatic engagement between Islamabad and Washington. The high-level interactions are likely to cover a range of issues, including regional security, economic cooperation and multilateral coordination.
