ISLAMABAD, Sunday, February 8, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during which the two leaders discussed the recent tragic attack in Islamabad and reviewed the broader state of Pakistan–Türkiye relations.
Foreign Minister Fidan conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Government of Türkiye, and the brotherly Turkish people over the loss of precious lives in the mosque bomb blast in Islamabad.
He expressed Türkiye’s deep sorrow over the incident and reaffirmed Ankara’s solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time.
Thanking the Turkish leadership for their support and expressions of sympathy, Senator Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unshaken resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms and to protect civilians and places of worship. He emphasized that Pakistan would continue to take decisive measures to eliminate extremist violence and uphold peace and security.
Beyond the immediate security concerns, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest. They also held detailed discussions on key regional and international developments, underscoring the importance of close coordination and consultation between Islamabad and Ankara on issues of shared concern.
Both leaders reaffirmed the enduring brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye and expressed their commitment to further deepening strategic partnership, cooperation, and mutual support at bilateral, regional, and international levels.
