JEDDAH, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 (WNP): Dr. Rajeh Tami Albugamy was sworn in as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan on Tuesday after taking the oath of office before His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, acting on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The oath-taking ceremony was held in Jeddah, where the Crown Prince witnessed the swearing-in of the Kingdom’s newly appointed ambassadors designated to several sisterly and friendly countries.
Dr. Albugamy, who retired from military service in 2024 with the rank of Major General, subsequently joined the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was appointed with the rank of Ambassador. He was later nominated to serve as Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, reflecting the Kingdom’s confidence in his extensive leadership and administrative experience.
An accomplished academic, Dr. Albugamy earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Resource Management (HRM) from Brunel University London in 2015, complementing his distinguished military career with expertise in organisational leadership and human capital development.
Alongside Ambassador-designate Dr. Albugamy, the Crown Prince administered the oath of office to several other newly appointed Saudi ambassadors. These included Turki bin Mohammed Al-Qahtani as Ambassador to Senegal and Non-Resident Ambassador to Cabo Verde, Guinea and The Gambia; Ghazi bin Rafi Al-Enezi as Ambassador to Syria; Badr bin Saud Al-Turaifi as Ambassador to Colombia and Non-Resident Ambassador to Panama; Aseel bint Sultan Al-Shehail as Ambassador to Sweden and Non-Resident Ambassador to Iceland; Abdulrahman bin Khalil Al-Khudaidi as Ambassador to Belgium and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg; Ahmed Omar Al-Mahaali as Ambassador to Niger; and Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Hadithi as Ambassador to Denmark and Non-Resident Ambassador to Lithuania.
Dr. Albugamy’s appointment comes as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to deepen their longstanding strategic partnership, underpinned by close political coordination, expanding economic cooperation, robust defence collaboration and enduring people-to-people ties. His diplomatic assignment is expected to further strengthen bilateral engagement and advance cooperation across a broad range of sectors of mutual interest.
