RAWALPINDI, Saturday, January 31, 2026 (WNP): Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies have foiled a series of coordinated terrorist attacks across Balochistan, killing 92 militants in large-scale clearance operations on Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, as the total number of terrorists eliminated in the province over the past two days rose to 133.

According to ISPR, India-sponsored terrorists belonging to the group referred to as Fitna al Hindustan launched multiple attacks on January 31 in and around Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni in an attempt to destabilise the province and disrupt peace.

The attacks, it said, were orchestrated on the directions of handlers operating from outside Pakistan.

The military said the militants deliberately targeted civilians in districts Gwadar and Kharan, resulting in the killing of 18 innocent people, including women, children, elderly citizens and labourers. ISPR described the attacks as “cowardly acts of terrorism” aimed at undermining the development of Balochistan and spreading fear among the local population.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies, already on high alert, responded immediately and launched prolonged, intense and coordinated clearance operations across multiple locations. “Demonstrating professional excellence and unwavering courage, troops engaged the terrorists with precision,” the statement said, adding that 92 militants, including three suicide bombers, were neutralised during the operations.

ISPR said 15 security personnel were martyred during the clearance operations and fierce standoffs. “These brave sons of the soil fought gallantly and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty,” it added.

Intelligence reports have “unequivocally confirmed” that the attacks were planned and directed by terrorist ringleaders based outside Pakistan, who remained in direct communication with the attackers during the assaults, according to the military.

The latest operations follow actions on January 30 in Panjgur and Harnai, where 41 terrorists belonging to Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khwarij were killed. With these successes, the total number of militants eliminated in ongoing counterterrorism operations in Balochistan over the last two days has reached 133.

Sanitisation operations are continuing across the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants, ISPR said, vowing that the instigators, facilitators and abettors of the attacks would be brought to justice.

The military reaffirmed that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country and ensure the safety and security of the people.
