ISLAMABAD, Sunday, January 11, 2026 (WNP): Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, on Sunday provided an update on the internal situation in Iran, stating that the country has remained largely calm since Saturday night.

According to the ambassador, Tehran and other major cities witnessed no significant disturbances, as citizens remained vigilant against violent elements and external interference. Temporary disruptions in internet connectivity were implemented for security reasons, in response to threats posed by terrorist groups and documented foreign attempts to destabilize the nation.

Ambassador Moghadam praised the Iranian people for their awareness and discernment, noting that they have effectively distanced themselves from rioters and terrorists.

He expressed confidence that, as in previous challenging times, Iran will overcome this phase through resilience, unity, and steadfastness.

The statement underscores Iran’s commitment to maintaining public order while addressing the challenges posed by both internal unrest and external pressures.
