Pakistan, China pledge deeper media, digital cooperation as Chinese journalists visit Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Saturday, January 10, 2026 (WNP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Saturday welcomed a delegation of Chinese journalists to Pakistan, along with Mr. Wang Shengjie, a representative of the Embassy of China, during their visit to the Ministry’s state-of-the-art Digital Communication Department.

The minister described the visit as a significant step toward strengthening media collaboration and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, particularly as Pakistan and China commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations this year.

Attaullah Tarar highlighted the importance of enhanced cooperation in modern media practices, digital communication, and information sharing, noting that closer engagement between media professionals would contribute to greater mutual understanding and more accurate representation of each other’s societies.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening ties with China through future-oriented digital cooperation, capacity building, and joint initiatives in the media sector.

The visiting delegation expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and showed keen interest in Pakistan’s digital media infrastructure and communication strategies, underscoring the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China friendship and its expanding scope in the digital age.
