RAWALPINDI, Sunday, January 11, 2026 (WNP): A Pakistan Navy flotilla, comprising PNS Rah Naward (sail ship), PNS Madadgar and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) vessel PMSS Kashmir, paid a goodwill visit to Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, Oman, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement issued on Sunday.

Upon arrival, the visiting ships were accorded a warm welcome by the Omani authorities, reflecting the longstanding cordial and cooperative relations between the two maritime neighbours.

During the port call, the Mission Commander, accompanied by the commanding officers of the visiting ships, held a series of professional interactions with senior leadership of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO). The Mission Commander called on the Acting Commander of the RNO, Director General Operations and Plans, Commander Maritime Security Centre, Commander Said Bin Sultan Naval Base, and the Commandant of Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy.

Following the port visit, Pakistan Navy and PMSA ships conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Royal Navy of Oman ship Khasab. The exercise at sea was aimed at enhancing interoperability, strengthening operational coordination, and promoting mutual learning through bilateral naval engagement.

Pakistan and Oman share close maritime ties as neighbouring countries, with regular exchange of visits by naval units, senior-level interactions, and joint exercises forming an integral part of their defence and maritime security cooperation. The visit underscored the shared commitment of both navies to regional maritime security and collaborative engagement.
