ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, November 18, 2025 (WNP): The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has successfully concluded the First Phase of its “Economic Empowerment of Vulnerable Households in Pakistan through Livestock Provision Project,” delivering critical livelihood support to 1,000 vulnerable families across four districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Under this phase, beneficiary households in Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir and Upper Dir received a comprehensive livestock package comprising two vaccinated goats, four bags of silage, and hands-on training from the Livestock Department to help establish sustainable, livestock-based income streams.

Implemented by the Peach and Development Organization in partnership with the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD) and PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the initiative aims to strengthen household-level economic resilience and food security. In total, 7,250 individuals benefited from the first phase of the programme.

Building on this momentum, KSrelief is preparing to launch Phase 2 and Phase 3, which will expand support to additional vulnerable communities across the province. Families in Swat, Swabi, Haripur and Mansehra will receive poultry packages—each consisting of 25 poultry birds, a complete poultry kit and training on poultry care and income generation. Meanwhile, households in Charsadda, Mardan and Nowshera will be supported with cattle, silage and structured training in animal husbandry, dairy production and livestock management.

Through these phased interventions, the project aims to foster self-reliance, improved nutrition and long-term economic stability, underscoring KSrelief’s steadfast commitment to empowering vulnerable communities and enhancing livelihood opportunities across Pakistan.
