DPM/FM meets Alexei Overchuk on sidelines of SCO summit in Bishkek; discusses bilateral, regional and international issues

BISHKEK, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting in Bishkek.

The two sides held a productive exchange of views on bilateral relations, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening the close Pakistan-Russia partnership, enhancing cooperation and maintaining high-level engagement.

They also discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of continued coordination and dialogue between Pakistan and Russia.

The meeting reflected the two countries’ shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation and further deepening engagement within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
