Pakistan, Iran reaffirm resolve to deepen bilateral ties, strengthen regional cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Friday, November 7, 2025 (WNP): Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on Friday called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, accompanied by a high-level delegation.

The Prime Minister warmly welcomed the visiting dignitary and reaffirmed the historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran. Extending his deep respect for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pazeshkian, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underlined Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its relationship with the neighboring Muslim country.

Highlighting the common challenges faced by both nations, the Prime Minister said Pakistan and Iran have been victims of terrorism and have consistently stood together against state-sponsored aggression.

He emphasized the shared resolve of both countries to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to enhance cooperation with Iran in trade, economic development, and other mutually beneficial sectors, underscoring the importance of regional connectivity and collaboration.

Iranian Speaker Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Prime Minister, the Government, and the people of Pakistan for their principled support during the recent Iran-Israel conflict. He also conveyed a message of goodwill and respect from President Masoud Pazeshkian to the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan.

While thanking National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq for his friendship and cooperation, Dr. Ghalibaf lauded the strong parliamentary partnership between the two countries and reiterated Iran’s commitment to further boosting bilateral trade and economic cooperation in the spirit of regional solidarity.
