ISLAMABAD, Friday, October 17, 2025 (WNP): Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa has emphasized the importance of unity, mutual cooperation, and religious harmony within the Muslim world to effectively address contemporary global challenges amid an evolving geopolitical landscape.

Speaking at a dinner hosted by former Federal Minister and Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence, Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Dr. Al-Issa said Pakistan holds a pivotal position in the Muslim Ummah, contributing significantly to fostering unity among Islamic nations and promoting global peace.

He noted that the Muslim World League is actively engaged in advancing Islam’s universal message of peace, tolerance, and moderation across the globe. Islam, he said, categorically rejects extremism and sectarianism, and instead advocates justice, unity, and brotherhood.

Praising Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote interfaith harmony, peace, and dialogue among civilizations, Dr. Al-Issa underscored the need for stronger collaboration among Muslim countries to present a united and credible voice at international forums and to spread the true image of Islam worldwide.

“The spirit of faith, sacrifice, and solidarity demonstrated by the people of Pakistan stands as a model for the entire Muslim world,” he remarked.

The MWL chief also urged Muslim countries to enhance cooperation in education, media, and cultural exchange to positively engage the youth and strengthen intellectual and social resilience across Muslim societies.

In his remarks, Senator Talha Mahmood lauded Dr. Al-Issa’s global leadership, describing his presence as a great honor for Pakistan. He announced that Dr. Al-Issa would be awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz during his next visit, as a token of appreciation and friendship from the people of Pakistan.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the Muslim World League, Senator Mahmood said Pakistan deeply values the League’s efforts to promote unity, tolerance, and brotherhood among Muslim nations.

“President Asif Ali Zardari consistently appreciates Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in strengthening the Muslim world,” the Senator added, emphasizing that both the government and people of Pakistan hold the Kingdom in the highest esteem.
