“Pakistan, Saudi Arabia reaffirm close coordination; Dar briefs Iranian FM on objectives of trilateral pact and regional peace efforts”

ISLAMABAD, Monday, August 10, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran on Monday, discussing matters of mutual interest, regional developments and efforts to promote peace and stability.

During his conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the two ministers discussed matters of mutual interest, including multilateral cooperation and regional developments.

They underscored the importance of maintaining close coordination and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, both bilaterally and at multilateral forums.

In a separate telephone conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and exchanged views on regional and international developments, with particular focus on the evolving situation in the region and ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability.

Dar also briefed the Iranian Foreign Minister on the contours and objectives of the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

He underscored that the agreement seeks to strengthen strategic cooperation among the three countries and contribute to regional peace, security and stability.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi thanked Deputy Prime Minister Dar for sharing the key aspects of the agreement.

The two ministers agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on matters of mutual interest and regional developments.
