ISLAMABAD, Monday, October 13, 2025 (WNP): The Third Trilateral Meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Pakistan, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan concluded in Islamabad on Monday under the chairmanship of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, reaffirming the three nations’ commitment to deepening parliamentary cooperation for regional peace, security, and prosperity.

Themed “Strengthening Fraternal Ties: Parliamentary Cooperation for Regional Peace, Security, and Prosperity,” the conference brought together delegations from the three brotherly nations to deliberate on shared challenges and opportunities for collaboration.

In his concluding remarks, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said the forum had “written a new chapter in the fraternal bonds among Pakistan, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan,” emphasizing that the nations stood united in solidarity against all forms of aggression threatening their sovereignty and stability.

He hailed Türkiye and Azerbaijan’s support to Pakistan during recent border tensions as a “profound manifestation of shared destiny,” reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and Türkiye’s stance on Northern Cyprus.

Condemning the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Speaker said both crises represented “open wounds on the conscience of humanity.” He welcomed the Gaza ceasefire as a step toward a Two-State Solution while urging tangible global efforts to end decades of suffering.

Addressing regional security, Ayaz Sadiq underscored that terrorism remained a collective menace transcending borders. He condemned the recent unprovoked joint attack by Taliban and Indian-backed elements, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability.

He urged the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan to prevent its soil from being used for terrorism, highlighting Pakistan’s long-standing support for the Afghan people.

On climate change, he called for a unified regional strategy, citing Pakistan’s floods, Türkiye’s wildfires, and Azerbaijan’s water scarcity as reminders of shared vulnerabilities. He proposed regional cooperation on disaster management, renewable energy, and sustainable development.

Adopted at the conclusion of the event, the Islamabad Declaration reaffirmed the trio’s resolve for enhanced communication, joint crisis response, and structured engagement across political, diplomatic, military, and social domains. It also voiced a united demand for justice and lasting peace in Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir in line with UN resolutions.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq expressed deep gratitude to his counterparts Numan Kurtulmus of Türkiye and Sahiba Gafarova of Azerbaijan for their principled stands and valuable contributions, declaring, “Pakistan will always remain the second home for our brothers from Türkiye and Azerbaijan.”

The conference concluded with a resounding affirmation: “Long Live Pakistan–Azerbaijan–Türkiye Brotherhood! Pakistan Zindabad!”
