ISLAMABAD, Monday, August 25, 2025 (WNP): Iranian Interior Minister General Iskandar Momeni on Monday expressed solidarity with Pakistan over the devastation caused by torrential rains and floods, offering assistance in relief efforts as hundreds of families struggle with loss and displacement.
In a telephone call to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Iranian minister conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
“Pakistan’s devastation from these floods is truly heartbreaking. Hundreds of people have been separated from their loved ones. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Pakistan,” he said, assuring every possible help from Tehran.
Minister Naqvi thanked his counterpart for the support, stressing that Pakistan and Iran have always shared both “joys and sorrows.” He noted that climate change was driving unprecedented destruction in Pakistan, with this year’s floods among the most dangerous in the country’s history.
“All institutions are actively engaged in relief and rehabilitation efforts, with the well-being of the flood victims as our top priority,” Naqvi said.
The conversation underscored the close ties between the two neighbors, with Iran reaffirming its readiness to assist Pakistan in confronting the worsening humanitarian crisis.
