MOSCOW, Wednesday, May 14, 2025 (WNP): Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in a significant interview with a leading Russian television channel, underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Russia across multiple sectors, including energy, defence, and security.

He emphasized that parliamentary friendship groups serve as a vital mechanism for deepening inter-parliamentary relations and fostering mutual understanding between the two nations.

“Enhanced road and rail connectivity will play a pivotal role in improving regional linkages,” he stated, highlighting the importance of infrastructure development for regional integration.

Chairman Gilani also lauded President Vladimir Putin’s vision, describing it as instrumental for ensuring long-term regional stability.

He called for expanding collaboration in trade and energy, stressing the untapped potential in these critical sectors.

Terming the historic ties between Pakistan and Russia as strategically significant, Chairman Gilani noted that such relationships are essential for fostering greater global engagement and promoting regional peace.
