Brig. Gen. Mohamed Fayez highlights Egypt-Pakistan military cooperation, regional stability and commitment to peace on 53rd anniversary of October Victory

ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, October 7, 2026 (WNP): Egyptian Defence Attaché Brig. Gen. Mohamed Fayez has said that the glorious October Victory remains a lasting symbol of Egypt’s national pride, sovereignty, resilience and the determination of its people to overcome challenges.
Addressing a ceremony marking the 53rd anniversary of Egyptian Armed Forces Day, he expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests for participating in the celebration, describing the historic victory as a demonstration of the Egyptian people’s steadfastness and the Armed Forces’ ability to achieve their objectives and safeguard national sovereignty.

He said the October Victory would remain a landmark in the history of the Egyptian military, reflecting the greatness of the Egyptian people and their enduring confidence in the Armed Forces’ ability to reclaim national territory and restore the country’s dignity.
The Defence Attaché paid tribute to the members of the Armed Forces whose determination, courage and heroism had restored Egypt’s land and dignity, setting exemplary standards of sacrifice and selflessness.
He also paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, ensuring that Egypt remained strong, secure and proud. He recalled with deep appreciation the decision to go to war and cross the Suez Canal, particularly under the leadership of the late President Anwar Sadat, who, he said, acted with faith in Allah, the Egyptian people and the Armed Forces’ ability to achieve victory against seemingly insurmountable challenges.
Brig. Gen. Fayez stated that the Egyptian Armed Forces remained an integral part of the nation, deriving their strength from the people while shouldering the responsibility of protecting the homeland, national assets, borders and territorial integrity.
He said the Armed Forces continued to possess the capabilities and expertise required to confront emerging threats, safeguard Egypt’s national security and respond to the mounting challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Emphasising Egypt’s commitment to peace, he said the country that had fought to reclaim its land was equally committed to pursuing peaceful relations and cooperation among nations.
“Egypt has never sought war or conflict to pursue ambitions or to unjustly seize the assets and resources of others,” he said, stressing that cooperation among nations remained a pathway to peace, progress and development.
He added that achieving security and stability required more than national efforts alone, calling for international cooperation, mutual understanding and the exchange of expertise, alongside respect for state sovereignty, territorial integrity and the principle of non-interference in internal affairs.
Highlighting bilateral relations, the Egyptian Defence Attaché said the progress achieved in advancing shared interests between Egypt and Pakistan in recent times underscored the importance of continued military cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
He noted that such cooperation helped build bridges of trust and understanding, foster a culture of peace and counter violence and extremism affecting the region.

Brig. Gen. Fayez said evolving security dynamics in the Middle East required responsible engagement and coordinated efforts to address shared challenges.
He emphasised the need to restore regional security and stability through a comprehensive approach that respected the distinct characteristics of societies and peoples and rejected interference in the internal affairs of states under any pretext.
In conclusion, he expressed sincere appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for its openness, transparency and determination to advance shared objectives and strengthen the distinguished cooperation between the two countries.
He concluded by wishing the peoples of Egypt and Pakistan enduring security, peace and stability.
