Russian President reaffirms Moscow-Islamabad cooperation, expresses confidence in further strengthening bilateral partnership

ISLAMABAD, Friday, August 14, 2026 (WNP): President of Russia Vladimir Putin has extended his sincere congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day.

In his message, President Putin said Russia-Pakistan relations were developing successfully, with Moscow and Islamabad maintaining productive cooperation in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian and other spheres.

He noted that the two countries were also working together on important regional and global issues.

President Putin expressed confidence that Russia and Pakistan would continue their constructive joint efforts to further strengthen the entire spectrum of bilateral partnership for the benefit of the friendly peoples of Russia and Pakistan and in the interests of enhancing international security and stability.

He conveyed his wishes for good health and success to President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while praying that the people of Pakistan enjoy peace and prosperity.
