ISLAMABAD, Saturday, June 27, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed their commitment to promoting lasting peace and stability in the region during a telephone conversation, with both sides agreeing to maintain close coordination on regional developments.

According to diplomatic sources, Senator Dar reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to playing a constructive role in advancing peace, dialogue and stability across the region and beyond.

He emphasized that Pakistan would continue supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and fostering sustainable peace through dialogue and mutual understanding.

During the conversation, Foreign Minister Araghchi expressed Iran’s appreciation for Pakistan’s continued support in advancing the ongoing peace process and acknowledged Islamabad’s constructive diplomatic engagement.

The Iranian foreign minister also thanked the Government of Pakistan for facilitating the safe and smooth repatriation of Iranian crew members and fishermen to their homeland, describing the humanitarian assistance as a reflection of the close and brotherly relations between the two neighbouring countries.

The two foreign ministers also reviewed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on the evolving regional situation.

Reaffirming the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Iran, both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations to strengthen bilateral cooperation while supporting efforts aimed at promoting regional peace, security and stability.
