Iran, Iraq FMs discuss bilateral ties, regional developments in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Sunday, June 28, 2026 (WNP): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, in Baghdad on Sunday, with discussions focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing cooperation and coordination, and reviewing the latest regional developments.

The meeting took place during Araghchi’s official visit to Iraq and underscored the close political and strategic ties between the two neighbouring countries.

The two foreign ministers reviewed the current state of Iran-Iraq relations and explored ways to further expand cooperation across political, economic, security and regional spheres.

They also exchanged views on the evolving regional situation, emphasizing the importance of continued consultation and coordination to address shared challenges and promote stability in the Middle East.
