BEIJING, Saturday, June 13, 2026 (WNP): A Pakistani delegation participating in a Religious Diplomacy Program held a series of engagements in Beijing for promoting bilateral relations, cultural understanding and people-to-people connectivity between Pakistan and China.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured a historic 600-year-old mosque in the Chinese capital, where they were warmly received by the mosque’s Imam. The Imam briefed the visitors on the mosque’s rich history and its significance in preserving China’s Islamic heritage.

The delegation also visited the mosque’s museum, where members viewed rare historical copies of the Holy Quran and other valuable artifacts reflecting centuries of Islamic civilization in China.
Later, the delegation visited China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held a meeting with Director General for Asian Affairs Liu Jinsong.
During the meeting, Liu Jinsong welcomed the Pakistani delegation and provided a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan-China relations, highlighting the enduring strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
Members of the Pakistani delegation praised the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China and thanked the Chinese government for its warm hospitality and arrangements during the visit.
The delegation also acknowledged China’s constructive role in regional diplomacy, noting that Director General Liu Jinsong had recently hosted Pakistan-Afghanistan dialogue efforts aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and understanding.
The visiting delegation included prominent religious scholars, political representatives and social leaders, among them Muhammad Imran Ashraf Usmani, son of renowned scholar Muhammad Taqi Usmani; Muhammad Anwar Junaid Shah; Ahmad Karim Kundi; Khurshid Nadeem; Abdul Haq Sani; Muhammad Zahid; Nadeem Ahmad Khan; Aamir Raza; Noor Habib; Abdul Razzaq; and Ataullah Shah, along with other distinguished participants.

Founder of the Religious Diplomacy Program, Israr Madani, said the initiative was designed to strengthen bilateral relations, promote religious and social harmony, and advance cultural diplomacy between the two countries.
He emphasized that dialogue among religious scholars, academics and community leaders could play a vital role in fostering mutual understanding and enhancing people-to-people ties.
Madani thanked the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China for their hospitality and support, while also appreciating the Pakistani delegation for effectively representing Pakistan and strengthening the spirit of friendship between the two nations.
The visit forms part of broader efforts to deepen Pakistan-China cooperation beyond traditional diplomatic channels by encouraging cultural, religious and societal engagement between the peoples of the two countries.
