DOHA, Sunday, May 10, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday and discussed bilateral cooperation, regional developments and Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at de-escalation.
During the call, the two leaders reviewed relations between the two countries and discussed ways to further support and enhance bilateral cooperation.
They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at reducing tensions in a manner contributing to regional security and stability.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani expressed Qatar’s appreciation for the efforts of Pakistan and other parties that contributed to achieving a ceasefire between the United States and Iran through mediation and diplomatic engagement.
The Qatari prime minister reaffirmed Doha’s full support for Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at resolving the crisis through peaceful means.
He stressed the importance of all parties responding positively to these efforts in order to create suitable conditions for progress in negotiations leading to a comprehensive agreement and sustainable peace in the region.
