LONDON, Wednesday, April 29, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer has strongly condemned a terrorist attack, describing it as part of a “spate of utterly vile attacks” targeting the Jewish community.

Expressing deep concern over the incident, the Prime Minister said he had chaired an emergency meeting of COBR to coordinate the government’s immediate response and review enhanced security measures.

He said key stakeholders, including the Home Secretary, the Mayor of London, and the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, were brought together to assess the situation and ensure a coordinated approach. He also confirmed engagement with the Community Security Trust (CST), which supports the security of Jewish communities across the UK.

Starmer announced that he would convene a meeting with criminal justice agencies to ensure effective and swift justice in response to the attack.

Highlighting growing concerns within the Jewish community, he acknowledged that many individuals feel vulnerable and, at times, compelled to conceal their identity in public spaces, including workplaces, schools, and healthcare settings.

“It is our responsibility to ensure they feel safe and secure,” he said, adding that the government remains committed to tackling the root causes of anti-Semitism and extremism.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that authorities would take all necessary measures to strengthen protection, enhance funding for security, and address the broader challenges posed by hate-driven violence.
