ISLAMABAD, Saturday, October 3, 2026 (WNP): British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday and discussed Pakistan-UK relations, upcoming bilateral engagements and the evolving regional situation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral ties and discussed upcoming engagements aimed at carrying forward cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments and the changing security environment.

Senator Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of efforts to ease tensions in the region and reaffirmed Pakistan’s position that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable way forward for addressing disputes and promoting peace and stability.

The meeting comes amid continued Pakistan-UK engagement following the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister’s recent visit to the United Kingdom. The Foreign Office has said that multiple activities are being planned under the agreed agenda for expanding bilateral cooperation.

The discussions also reflected the two countries’ ongoing efforts to maintain high-level diplomatic engagement and advance cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
