Prime Minister Shehbaz arrives in Qatar on official visit

DOHA, Thursday, April 16, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on Thursday as part of his official visit to Qatar, aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and discussing regional developments.

Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, the Prime Minister and his delegation were warmly received by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.

A smartly turned-out contingent of the Qatari Armed Forces presented a guard of honor to the visiting dignitary, reflecting the close and cordial relations between the two countries.

The airport and various parts of the city were adorned with Pakistani flags to mark the arrival of the Prime Minister and his delegation.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the Amir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The two sides are expected to exchange views on Pakistan’s ongoing efforts for regional and global peace, as well as matters of mutual interest.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and the Prime Minister’s Spokesperson for International Media Mushahid Zaidi are accompanying the Prime Minister.
