PYONGYANG, Monday, April 13, 2026 (WNP): Supreme Leader of North Korea Kim Jong Un has expressed readiness to engage directly with the United States and offered to support mediation efforts concerning Iran, emphasizing his commitment to global peace.

“I am always ready to sit down with the President of the United States at any time to make efforts for mediation with Iran that produces an outcome the international community would welcome,” Kim said, adding that “peace in the world is our primary goal.”

Highlighting shifting regional dynamics, he noted that relations between North Korea and South Korea were moving toward “peace and prosperity,” and proposed the possibility of joint military cooperation with Seoul and other nations.

At the same time, Kim firmly opposed the deployment of foreign weapons in the region, stating that such moves would not be permitted in North Korea’s vicinity.

The remarks come amid heightened diplomatic activity globally, as countries explore avenues for de-escalation and negotiated solutions to ongoing conflicts.
