ISLAMABAD, Saturday, February 28, 2026 (WNP): Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday received a telephone call from Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss the evolving situation in Iran and the broader regional environment.
During the conversation, the two leaders reviewed recent developments and exchanged views on the escalating tensions and their potential implications for regional peace and stability.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar strongly condemned the unwarranted attacks against Iran and stressed the need for an immediate halt to further escalation.
He underscored the importance of urgent resumption of diplomacy to achieve a peaceful and negotiated resolution to the crisis.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, Dar emphasized dialogue and engagement as the only viable path forward to prevent further deterioration of the security situation.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact as the situation continues to unfold.
