RAWALPINDI, Tuesday, May 5, 2026 (WNP): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Hilal-e-Jurat, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, presided over the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi.
The forum paid rich tribute to the Shuhada of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country, stating that their legacy remains the foundation of Pakistan’s national security, unity, and resilience.
The Chief of Army Staff expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness, professionalism, and combat readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces, commending commanders and formations for their continued success in intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations across the country.
The conference undertook a comprehensive review of the internal and external security environment and resolved to maintain the current operational tempo to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their support infrastructure, and deny them operational space inside Pakistan.
The forum noted continued operational gains under “Operation Ghazb lil Haq,” observing a sustained degradation of terrorist elements and their support systems.
It strongly rejected “irrational and perverted policy” of the Afghan Taliban regime for providing safe havens to terrorist groups, saying such actions are increasingly backfiring and harming the interests of the Afghan people. The forum also dismissed recent Afghan allegations regarding Pakistan’s counter-terrorism operations, describing them as part of a coordinated disinformation campaign aimed at diverting attention from internal failures.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, the forum stated that all defensive actions are precise, targeted, and directed solely against terrorists, infiltrators, and their infrastructure.
On regional developments, the conference noted that evolving geopolitical dynamics carry significant implications for regional stability. While emphasizing restraint and de-escalation, it reiterated Pakistan’s continued role in promoting peace and responsible conduct among states, stressing that stability depends on mutual respect for sovereignty and collective responsibility.
The forum also marked the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq,” terming it a defining moment of national unity, resilience, and resolve. It stated that the commemoration sends a clear message of Pakistan’s preparedness and unity under the concept of “Bunyan-ul-Marsoos,” reflecting harmony between the people, government, and armed forces.
The conference strongly condemned ongoing human rights violations, extrajudicial killings, and demographic changes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people.
In his concluding remarks, the COAS & CDF directed commanders to maintain high vigilance, operational readiness, and adaptability in response to evolving threats, while ensuring continued professional excellence and integrated response mechanisms against both conventional and non-conventional challenges.
