ABU DHABI, Saturday, March 28, 2026 (WNP): President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has underlined the growing security partnership between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing collaboration to strengthen air defense and protect critical infrastructure.

Speaking in the UAE, Zelenskyy met with Ukrainian experts deployed in the country for several weeks to assist in enhancing local defense capabilities. He reviewed the initial results of their work, key findings, and proposals aimed at boosting protection against aerial threats.

“Our shared goal with our partners is greater security,” Zelenskyy said. “Ukrainians remember well the impact of Russia’s full-scale aggression. Much depends on fast and effective defense decisions. Today, Ukraine not only needs assistance but is also ready to support those who support us.”

During their deployment, Ukrainian specialists held consultations with representatives of the UAE’s Security and Defense Forces, focusing on comprehensive measures to protect airspace and critical infrastructure. Zelenskyy said these efforts, combined with Ukraine’s experience, could significantly enhance the Emirates’ defense capabilities.

The president also acknowledged the UAE’s leadership, meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and praised the Ukrainian team for their dedication and professionalism.

“I thanked the team for their service and for the respect for Ukraine that is felt across the region. Our people deserve this respect and are truly among those who can help restore security. Glory to Ukraine!” Zelenskyy added.

The visit highlights Ukraine’s expanding role in international security cooperation, particularly in sharing expertise in air defense and crisis management with partner nations.
