ISLAMABAD, Thursday, July 31, 2025 (WNP): A vibrant display of Turkish heritage and hospitality took center stage at the National Press Club (NPC) on Thursday as the Yunus Emre Institute Islamabad, in collaboration with the NPC, hosted a captivating one-day photo exhibition titled ‘Wonders of Türkiye’.
The event, aimed at showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Türkiye, drew a wide array of dignitaries, diplomats, and media representatives. Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi graced the exhibition as the chief guest, while Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Irfan Neziroglu formally inaugurated the event as guest of honour.
Also in attendance were Dr. Khalil Toker, Head of Yunus Emre Institute Islamabad; Saliha Tuna, Country Director of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA); NPC President Azhar Jatoi; Secretary Nayyar Ali; and senior officials from both the Turkish Embassy and the NPC.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi commended the exhibition for beautifully capturing the essence of Turkish culture. “This initiative is a testament to the warm and historic bond between the people of Türkiye and Pakistan,” he remarked. “Türkiye has always stood by Pakistan in times of need, and we deeply value that enduring friendship.”
He also extended an invitation to the Turkish ambassador and TIKA representatives to visit the Governor House in Peshawar, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cultural and institutional exchanges.
Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu praised the ever-deepening bilateral relationship between the two countries, calling it a “brotherhood built on shared values and mutual support.” He noted that Türkiye and Pakistan enjoy robust cooperation in diverse sectors including health, education, and tourism, and said, “Our relations grow stronger each day.”
NPC President Azhar Jatoi and Secretary Nayyar Ali thanked the Turkish delegation and commended the exhibition for offering a colorful and insightful glimpse into the soul of Türkiye.
The event served not only as a celebration of Turkish beauty and culture but also as a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Türkiye — ties marked by solidarity, shared history, and a common vision for the future.
