ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 (WNP): Uzbekistan and Pakistan are set to further deepen bilateral ties through enhanced air connectivity, as Uzbekistan Airways announced it will double the frequency of its flights between Tashkent and Islamabad starting October 28, 2025.
According to the Uzbekistan’s embassy in Islamabad on Wednesday, the airline will increase services on the ‘Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent’ route from once to twice a week, in response to strong passenger demand. Currently, the carrier operates two weekly flights between Tashkent and Lahore (Wednesdays and Fridays) and one weekly flight between Tashkent and Islamabad (Saturdays).
With most flights running at full capacity and tickets selling out days in advance, the expansion will help provide greater convenience for travelers, while also promoting trade, economic cooperation, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The enhanced schedule is also expected to benefit international travelers. Tashkent International Airport serves as a key regional hub, offering seamless onward connections from Pakistan to destinations across Europe, North America, and Asia.
The step reflects Uzbekistan’s broader strategy of using transport and logistics to strengthen economic diplomacy and people-to-people contacts with Pakistan.
The additional flights will not only boost bilateral trade and tourism but also symbolize the two nations’ shared vision of building stronger regional links and expanding global connectivity.
