UN Chief appreciates Pakistan’s role in Islamabad Talks, reaffirms support for peace efforts

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, April 14, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday, during which the two leaders discussed ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability.

According to official sources, the UN Secretary-General appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in convening the Islamabad talks and commended the efforts of the Deputy Prime Minister in advancing dialogue aimed at de-escalation.

He also conveyed the United Nations’ full support for Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement to promote peace in the region.
