LAHORE, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 (WNP): The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Pakistan’s Department of Tourism have signed a Letter of Intention to rehabilitate Javed Manzil — the historic residence of national poet-philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal in a symbolic gesture celebrating the enduring friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan.
The agreement, signed as part of the Türkiye-Pakistan Culture Week, aims to restore Javed Manzil to its original grandeur by 2027, transforming it into a living symbol of shared cultural heritage and intellectual legacy.

Located in the heart of Lahore, Javed Manzil holds deep national significance as the place where Allama Iqbal spent his final years and composed many of his visionary works that continue to shape the intellectual identity of Pakistan and the broader Muslim world.
Both sides hailed the initiative as a testament to the strong cultural, historical, and emotional bonds that unite Türkiye and Pakistan. The project is expected to enhance cultural tourism, preserve Pakistan’s literary heritage, and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of arts, history, and education.
Once restored, Javed Manzil will serve as a beacon of inspiration for future generations in both nations — celebrating the shared ideals of unity, faith, and progress championed by Allama Iqbal.
