ISLAMABAD, Thursday, May 08, 2025 (WNP): Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu on Thursday visited the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) headquarters at the invitation of President Mian Muhammad Rauf Atta and the Association’s 27th Cabinet.

The envoy was warmly received by the Cabinet members upon arrival and was formally welcomed on behalf of Pakistan’s legal fraternity.

During the meeting, SCBA President Mian Rauf Atta highlighted the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye, placing special emphasis on the close ties between the legal communities of both nations. He also acknowledged Turkiye’s timely support to Pakistan amid the country’s ongoing security challenges.

Ambassador Neziroğlu, in his address, echoed the President’s sentiments and underlined the centuries-old religious, cultural, and linguistic links shared by the two nations. He praised the enduring strength of the Pakistan-Turkiye friendship, noting that it has continued to grow stronger in the face of adversity.

Expressing solidarity with Pakistan’s fight against terrorism, the ambassador commended the country’s resilience and sacrifices. “A threat to Pakistan is a threat to Turkiye,” he said, invoking a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), “If one part of the body feels pain, the whole body suffers.” He said this reflected the spirit of unity and shared destiny between the two nations.

Dr. Neziroğlu also spoke about his mission to connect with Pakistan’s 250 million citizens at the grassroots level, aiming to promote cooperation across diverse sectors including law, education, and healthcare. He described Pakistan as a young and vibrant society—a key strength in fostering deeper bilateral engagement.
