Top civil–military leadership visits injured police at CMH Quetta, reaffirms resolve against terrorism

QUETTA, Sunday, February 1, 2026 (WNP): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and the Corps Commander Balochistan on Sunday visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta to inquire after police personnel injured in recent terrorist attacks, paying tribute to their courage and reaffirming the state’s resolve to eradicate terrorism from the province.

During the visit, the senior leadership reviewed the medical care being provided to the injured officers and commended their high morale, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty. The Interior Minister and the Chief Minister assured the personnel of the government’s full support and emphasized that their sacrifices would not go in vain.

Addressing the injured police officers, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said they had confronted the terrorists “like lions” and successfully foiled their attack, demonstrating exceptional bravery in the line of duty.

He added that the entire nation stands proud of the police force for defending the lives of innocent citizens and safeguarding public order under extremely challenging circumstances.

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti also saluted the injured personnel for thwarting what he described as a conspiracy to destabilize Balochistan. “You are our lions, and the nation stands with you,” he said, reiterating that the provincial and federal governments remain united with the security forces in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

The Corps Commander Balochistan praised the injured officers for their resilience and steadfastness, noting that their courage reflects the strong resolve of Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies to confront and defeat terrorist threats.

Speaking from their hospital beds, the injured police personnel expressed firm determination to return to duty after recovery. “We will recover and fight this mischief again,” they said, adding that their spirits remain high and their resolve unshaken. The officers reiterated their commitment to confronting and defeating terrorist elements, including what they described as Fitna-al-Hindustan, emphasizing their readiness to make any sacrifice for the security and stability of the country.

The visit concluded with a renewed pledge by the civil and military leadership to continue comprehensive counterterrorism efforts, strengthen law enforcement capacity, and ensure lasting peace and stability in Balochistan, while honoring the sacrifices of police personnel and security forces across the province.
