TIKA explores new avenues of collaboration with PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Thursday, December 11, 2025 (WNP): The Country Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Saliha Tuna, visited the Pir Mehr Ali Shah (PMAS) Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi on Thursday to discuss enhanced cooperation in agriculture, capacity-building, and technology-driven development.

During the meeting with the university’s leadership, the two sides exchanged views on strengthening academic and technical collaboration aimed at improving agricultural productivity, research capabilities, and modern farming practices in Pakistan.

Tuna emphasized TIKA’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in areas of mutual interest, particularly agricultural innovation, institutional capacity-building, and advanced technology solutions for climate-resilient farming.

University officials briefed the visiting delegation on ongoing research initiatives and potential projects where Turkish expertise and technical assistance could bring significant value.

The discussions concluded with both sides expressing a strong desire to develop concrete, result-oriented initiatives in the coming months—marking a renewed chapter in Pakistan-Turkey cooperation in the agricultural sector.
