KARACHI, Saturday, May 9, 2026 (WNP): The first ATR aircraft of South Air landed in Karachi on Saturday under the Tourism Promotion Regional Integration (TPRI) initiative, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s aviation sector.

The arrival of the aircraft was described as an important development aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and strengthening Pakistan’s aviation landscape.

According to the initiative’s organisers, the launch of South Air operations is expected to contribute to improved air links and promote tourism and regional integration.

Officials said the development aligned with broader efforts to modernise the country’s aviation infrastructure and expand connectivity across the region.
