Saudi minister to chair 15th meeting of Awqaf Council with participation of member states

RIYADH, Wednesday, April 1, 2026 (WNP): Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance of Saudi Arabia Abdullatif Al Alsheikh will chair the 15th meeting of the Executive Council of the Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Islamic countries on Thursday via video conference from Jeddah.

The meeting will be attended by ministers from member states, with the executive council comprising eight countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, The Gambia, Kuwait, Egypt, and Morocco.

According to official sources, the council will deliberate on a range of contemporary issues related to Islamic affairs, including the role of ministries of Islamic affairs and endowments in promoting moderation and tolerance, as well as addressing evolving intellectual and social challenges.

The Executive Council is responsible for ensuring the implementation of decisions taken by the general conference, shaping its agenda, and presenting recommendations aimed at strengthening joint Islamic initiatives and enhancing coordination among member states.

The meeting is expected to reinforce collaborative efforts among Islamic countries to promote shared values and respond effectively to emerging challenges in the Muslim world.
