ISLAMABAD, Thursday, July 31, 2025 (WNP): Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday met with Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Ahmed Al-Malki to explore new avenues of collaboration in urban development, culture, and investment in a key diplomatic engagement meant for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The high-level meeting, held here, was marked by a spirit of friendship and mutual interest. A central point of discussion was a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning the Faisal Mosque — a landmark of the Pakistan-Saudi partnership. The move is expected to further solidify the symbolic and strategic ties between the two nations.

Randhawa emphasized the deep-rooted brotherly bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, describing it as “a relationship anchored in shared faith, trust, and mutual aspirations.” He reaffirmed Islamabad’s openness to Saudi investments, particularly in urban planning, cultural heritage preservation, and the hospitality sector.

“The Capital will always welcome partnerships that contribute to its growth and cultural enrichment,” Randhawa stated.

Ambassador Al-Malki, while appreciating CDA’s efforts to beautify and modernize Islamabad, lauded the recent horticultural advancements, including the launch of the “Gardenia Hub” — a state-of-the-art nursery project spearheaded by the CDA.

“The transformation of Islamabad’s landscape and the quality of life are visibly improving with each passing day,” the envoy noted, expressing Saudi Arabia’s continued interest in investing in high-end hospitality projects in the capital.

The Ambassador also highlighted ongoing meetings between Saudi investors and Pakistani officials, with a particular focus on establishing luxury hotels to accommodate growing diplomatic and business activity.

The two sides also reviewed preparations for Saudi National Day on September 23, with Randhawa assuring full support from CDA in organizing celebrations in collaboration with other relevant departments.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both leaders pledging to translate the longstanding Pakistan-Saudi friendship into tangible cooperation in urban development, tourism, and cultural exchange.
