ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, October 22, 2025 (WNP): The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) inaugurated the Dates Distribution Project Pakistan 2025 at a formal ceremony held in Islamabad, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s enduring commitment to humanitarian assistance and food security in Pakistan.

The project was officially launched by Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, alongside Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, who attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The event was also attended by representatives of government institutions, international organizations, and humanitarian agencies.

Under this initiative, KSrelief will distribute premium-quality Saudi dates across all provinces and regions of Pakistan—including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir—in close partnership with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.

The program is designed to assist thousands of vulnerable families, particularly those affected by floods and ongoing economic challenges, by helping meet their essential nutritional needs.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Al-Malki emphasized that the project reflects the deep-rooted friendship, brotherhood, and humanitarian partnership between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He noted that the Kingdom, through KSrelief, continues to stand by the people of Pakistan during times of need, extending support that transcends geographical and political boundaries.

The Dates Distribution Project 2025 is part of KSrelief’s wider portfolio of humanitarian initiatives across Pakistan, focusing on food security, healthcare, education, water and sanitation, and livelihood support. These efforts, the Ambassador said, underscore the Kingdom’s global vision of serving humanity and promoting sustainable development.

In his concluding remarks, Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt expressed profound gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and KSrelief for their unwavering humanitarian support. He lauded the Centre’s continued collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring that this generous assistance reaches the most deserving families across the country.

He said, “Saudi Arabia has always stood shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan in both good and difficult times. This initiative once again reflects the spirit of compassion and solidarity that binds our two brotherly nations.”
